Cornelius is accepting entries for its annual Halloween Decorating Contest through Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Cornelius Parks and Recreation runs the contest in two categories: Spooky & Scary and Fun & Festive. The contest is open to anyone interested in competing, Cornelius Today reported.
All entries must be exterior decorations that are appropriate for children, nondiscriminatory and free from political messages. Participants agree to have photos of their decorated home and address posted on the Parks and Recreation website and social media pages.
Public voting runs online Oct. 20–28. Contestants must keep decorations lit from 5:30 to 9 p.m. each night during that window.
Winners will be announced Friday, Oct. 30, on the town's website, social media accounts and in the November e-newsletter.
Entries are accepted through the Town of Cornelius Parks and Recreation contest page.
