Bruce Mosley, a 30-year sports industry veteran, will lead Davidson Sports Properties as its new general manager, Davidson College Athletics and Learfield announced Thursday, Oct. 8.

Mosley will serve as the primary liaison to the athletic department, working to grow sponsorship opportunities and expand relationships with local and regional corporate partners. Davidson Sports Properties is Learfield's locally based team that generates sponsorship revenue for Davidson Athletics.

Chris Clunie, Davidson's vice president and director of athletics, praised the hire.

"Bruce Mosley brings a wealth of experience and strong relationships to Davidson Sports Properties, and we are excited to have his leadership," Clunie said in the announcement.

His roots are in motorsports. Mosley held leadership roles with Roush Fenway Racing, where he worked closely with co-owner Fenway Sports Management, and at The Marketing Arm, a division of Omnicom. He also worked with other organizations throughout the NASCAR industry, according to Learfield.

Mosley spent 14 years as an executive-in-residence and adjunct professor at Belmont Abbey College. He is a former collegiate scholar-athlete in baseball who earned a bachelor's degree from Florida State University and participated in Stetson University's MBA program.

Mosley said he plans to grow sponsorship revenue and build new corporate partnerships for Davidson Athletics.

The hire comes nine months after Davidson Athletics renewed a 10-year multimedia rights partnership with Learfield on Jan. 12. That deal expanded the Davidson Sports Properties team and added digital tools including Learfield's Fanbase fan data platform and Fan365 programmatic sponsorship system. Peyton Gallagher was general manager at the time of the January renewal.

Davidson sponsors 21 varsity teams competing primarily in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The college also announced a multi-year deal with Nike and BSN SPORTS on June 10 to supply uniforms, apparel, footwear and equipment across all programs.

Daryl Jasper, Learfield's vice president of sports properties, said Mosley will help Davidson Athletics grow sponsorship revenue in ways that fit the college's mission. Learfield works with more than 1,200 collegiate institutions and over 12,000 brand partners nationwide.

Davidson's 10-year deal with Learfield runs through the mid-2030s, giving Mosley a long runway to build the Wildcats' corporate partnership portfolio.
