Lake Norman quarterback Kaden Craft accounted for six touchdowns Friday, Oct. 9, as the Wildcats shut out South Iredell 60-0 in a North Piedmont Conference home game.

Craft completed 78.9% of his passes for 241 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, according to MaxPreps. He added 71 rushing yards and three more scores on just seven carries, setting a season high on the ground.

The junior was far from alone. Receiver Noah Jacobsen hauled in 89 yards and two touchdowns, earning the N.C. Farm Bureau Insurance Offensive Player of the Game award. Reed Joyce took home the Defensive Player of the Game honor, according to the Statesville Record and Landmark.

Lake Norman piled up 461 total yards and blew the game open with a 27-point second quarter.

South Iredell (1-6) has now dropped five straight.

The shutout pushed the Wildcats to 7-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. MaxPreps ranks Lake Norman No. 5 in North Carolina. The NC Football News composite "Fabulous 15" had the Wildcats at No. 5 entering the week, trailing Hough, Providence Day, Grimsley and Weddington.

Head coach Jonathan Oliphant praised Craft's trajectory in an August preseason profile by Lake Norman Publications. "Kaden has a chance to be really, really special … He does some things that you just can't coach," Oliphant said. Through seven games, Craft is delivering on that assessment. The Wildcats are averaging 37.1 points per game behind an offense that posted its highest yardage total since a 549-yard outing against West Cabarrus on Sept. 5, 2025.

Lake Norman hosts North Iredell at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in another North Piedmont Conference matchup.
