Bad Daddy's Burger Bar in Huntersville will roll out a new limited-time burger when Charlotte Burger Week begins Friday, Aug. 14, giving Lake Norman diners a first crack at the jalapeño popper-inspired creation before it hits the regular menu in September.

The burger, called "The Jalapeño Business," features a house-made jalapeño popper topping paired with a sweet-and-salty raspberry jam, according to a Charlotte Observer profile of the chain published Monday, Aug. 10.

"Everybody is going to love The Jalapeño Business," culinary director John Masterson told the Observer, contrasting it with the current August offering, "The Big Dill," which he said you have to love pickles to love.

The Huntersville location at 8625-A Lindholm Dr. is among more than 25 Charlotte-area restaurants participating in the 10-day event, which runs through Sunday, Aug. 23. Elevate Lifestyle organizes the annual promotion, and diners can vote for their favorite burger at cltburgerweek.com, according to Country 103.7.

Bad Daddy's calls its rotating lineup "Big Bad's Monthly Drops." The culinary team plans about a year ahead, with recipes finalized roughly six months before they reach customers, Masterson told the Observer. The chain shifted from a broader lineup of limited-time items including desserts and shakes to one featured burger per month after listening to customer feedback.

Not a pickle person? Residents still have time with "The Big Dill," available through Monday, Aug. 31. That burger stacks a seven-ounce beef patty with Monterey Jack cheese, house-made pickle pico, crispy pickle frites, dill ranch and a whole gherkin spear on a toasted brioche bun, paired with a $6 Blue Moon Belgian White.

Charlotte Burger Week runs Friday, Aug. 14, through Sunday, Aug. 23.
