Two ticketed concerts and a full slate of free shows fill Cornelius venues this week, with more than 20 live performances from Wednesday, Sept. 30, through Sunday, Oct. 4.
A benefit concert Saturday, Oct. 3, at Boatyard LKN, 18418 Statesville Rd., features Generation Radio, a band fronted by Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts and Jason Scheff of Chicago. Special guest U-Phonik opens the evening. Proceeds support Cool Kids Clubhouse and the Huntersville-based Dan Jansen Foundation, both of which aid families affected by cancer, according to Cool Kids Clubhouse. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Advance general admission is $22; door tickets are $25. Attendees must be 21 or older.
Also Saturday, Cain Center for the Arts, 21348 Catawba Ave., hosts American Elton, an Elton John tribute show. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m., according to the Cain Center events page. Ticket information is available on the Cain Center website.
Friday, Oct. 2, brings AC/DC tribute act Hells Bells with opener TNT to Boatyard LKN. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the opener starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance or at the door. Attendees must be 21 or older.

Wednesday, Sept. 30: Peninsula Prime hosts the Justin Mintun Duo (acoustic) at 6 p.m. Harp & Crown has Ephraim Sommers (acoustic) at 6 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 1: The Serve Pickleball + Kitchen features John Sullivan (rock) at 6 p.m. The Alleyway has Holly Hopkis Jazz from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Bin 110 closes the night with Pluto for Planet Duo (multi-genre) at 9 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 2: Lost Worlds Brewing starts with Carolina Ridgeline (bluegrass) at 6 p.m. 760 Craft Works has Greg Griffin (rock/blues) at 6:30 p.m. H2 Public House hosts Jared Evans (rock) at 7 p.m. Harp & Crown features Bullfrog Moon (acoustic) from 7 to 10 p.m. Royal Bliss has Untethered Soul (funk) from 7 to 10 p.m. Torrence & Knox hosts Casey Clark & the Sugar Bush (rock) at 7 p.m. The Alleyway has Bobby Thomas Trio (jazz) from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Bin 110 hosts John Sullivan (multi-genre) at 9 p.m. Rudder & Rose closes with Minutes Past Midnight at 10 p.m.
