Huntersville firefighters extinguished a fuel-fed vehicle fire in the 100 block of Bingham Street on Saturday, Aug. 1, after the blaze proved more stubborn than a typical car fire.

Engine 11 and Car 3 arrived just after 9:30 p.m. to find the vehicle actively burning, with its fuel supply feeding the flames, according to the Huntersville Fire Department's post on X. The department described the fire as a "stubborn fuel fed fire" but said "the crew made quick work of it."

No injuries were mentioned in the department's post. The cause of the fire, the make and model of the vehicle, and whether anyone was inside at the time of ignition were not disclosed.

Engine 11 operates out of Station 1 on South Old Statesville Road and serves as the second-out engine for that coverage area. Car 3 also responded to the scene.

The call came during a heavy stretch for the department, which ran 562 incidents in July alone, according to the department's monthly summary.
