Krish Korrapati, a senior at Pine Lake Preparatory in Huntersville, was elected vice president of American Legion Boys Nation during the program's 80th session in Washington, D.C. He is the first North Carolinian in 30 years to hold a Boys Nation office.
Huntersville's American Legion Post 321 sponsored Korrapati and provided the resources for him to compete at the national level, according to a Boys Nation Senate resolution submitted during the session. Post 321 commanders Kevin Horn, Joe Reale and Joe Potuzack were named in the resolution as key supporters.
The vice presidency is the second-highest elected office in the national civic leadership program, which the American Legion has run since 1946. Post 321 also backed five other Tar Heel Boys State delegates and recently honored all six for their leadership, Lake Norman Publications reported. The last North Carolinian to hold a Boys Nation office did so in 1996.
In the resolution, Korrapati credited Post 321 with giving him "the honor, opportunity, and resources to represent their post at as high a level as possible."
Huntersville schools earn statewide athletic honors
Lake Norman Charter and Christ the King earned top honors in the NCHSAA's inaugural 2025–26 Wells Fargo State Cup standings, which recognize all-around athletic success across multiple sports, according to Our Davie. The award covers all eight NCHSAA regions and all eight classifications.
